He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #3
DC Comics (November, 2012)
Blood Tide WRITER: Keith Giffen PENCILER: Philip Tan INKERS: Ruy José, Norman Lee, Ray Snyder, and Walden Wong COLORIST: Lee Oughridge LETTERER: Carlos M. Mangual COLVER ARTIST: Dave Wilkins EDITOR: Michael McCalister
Adam and Teela hire a boat to wherever they’re being drawn to next. However, the boat is attacked by Mer-Man (who lets more slip about “He-Man”–exactly how are these guys supposed to STOP Adam from regaining his memories?) and our heroes are in for the fight of their amnesiac lives.
What they got right: I like the interaction between Adam and Teela. Apparently even subconsciously she likes teasing him. This is also when Adam learns he’s a prince (thanks again to blabbermouth Mer-Man) and we’ll see how that dynamic works.
What they got wrong: When did Skeletor think the Power Sword was the power source? In every version I recall he knew the power came from Greyskull. In one continuity the sword was split in half and together was the key to opening the “jawbridge” of Greyskull and gain its secrets. Castle Greyskull has ALWAYS been Skeletor’s target, besides the throne of Eternia.
Recommendation: I hope we get to see He-Man soon, since this is what we all came for, instead of a reunion story. As reunion stories go, however, it’s not a bad one . Check it out.

“Hey, Adam! I can see your palace from here!”
