It’s was a good part of MY childhood; why deny the current generation?

Oh, I”m looking forward to the new series, don’t get me wrong. I loved Captain Power & The Soldiers of the Future as a kid and I still have my Power Jet XT-7. (I wonder if that works with HD TV’s? I know the old Nintendo light guns don’t.) However, if Battlestar Galactica has taught us anything it’s that they are more than willing to play to adults and leave the kids behind. If I had kids I would want them to enjoy the same stuff I did, and a good remake/re-imagining can accomplish this. Thundercats is the most recent example of doing it right by keeping something for both audiences as well as nods to the original show for those fans.

I’m hoping that Phoenix Rising doesn’t forget the kids when they remake their show. Captain Power had its fair share of dark moments without being un-friendly to kids. (A good thing when you’re trying to sell toys that interact with the show.) And telling me that the original producer is back doesn’t help. I wasn’t a Miami Vice fan, but that had the original producer working on the film and Sid & Marty Krofft allegedly signed off on the Wil Ferrel Land of the Lost disaster.

No articles on the other sites this week. I didn’t have time to do anything for The Clutter Reports and I had trouble logging in to Reviewers Unknown, which may or may not have something to do with the recent OS re-install on my computer. I don’t know for sure.

Godzilla #5

I’ve been waiting for this.

Of course, it doesn’t help that some of the comics this week were so good I couldn’t choose one moment and one was so “meh” there wasn’t one.
