Godzilla: The Half-Century War #2

Vietnam:1967 – Godzilla is interrupting the Vietnam war because he’s searching for something. Standing in his way are the men of the Anti Megalosaurus Force…and Anguirus! But what are they really fighting over?
What they got right: Anguirus was Godzilla’s first ever movie opponent and the same is true in the Half-Century Godzillaverse. And what a fight it is. Stokoe draws some good monsters and here also does great choreography. What results is probably the best Kaiju fight I’ve ever seen in a comic book, and I’ve a lot of Godzilla comics in my life. In fact it’s so good the reason I don’t have a Best Scene nomination is because it goes for five pages. Also, the debut of the Maser Cannons.
What they got wrong: Unfortunately it’s a shorter fight that I would have liked, since the US military, as they’re usually depicted, things bigger bombs are the only solution. I’m pretty sure the REAL US Military isn’t this stupid, but tell that to most writers.
Recommendation: I’d say pick this up for the Godzilla/Anguirus fight. It’s really that good.
