Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #12
IDW Publishing (July, 2012)STORY: Kevin Eastman & Tom Waltz SCRIPT: Tom Waltz ARTIST: Dan Duncan COLORIST: Ronda Pattison (selected cover by interior artists) LETTERER: Shawn Lee EDITOR: Bobby Curnow
The Purple Dragons lead the Turtles to Foot’s doorstep just as Splinter is on the verge of defeat. Our heroes get their master out of there, but now he knows they exist. Meanwhile, Baxter “fires” Old Hob and Krang takes the scientist prisoner.
What they got right: Turtles vs. Shredder, again for the first time. The fight choreography is well done.
What they got wrong: If only the character models matched. There are also blurs that look more like they’re hiding rushed art than motion, but that could just be my perspective. Your mileage may vary.
Recommendation: I’m getting more into this new Turtles universe. Worth checking out.
The whole fight would be worthy of Best Scene, but it’s most of the book.
