When I decided that I was going to grab comics at random for this tournament I fully expected that there would be some weak posts. But I set the rule that if there was any kind of fight it was eligible. And so what do we have? Sergio Aragonés and Star Wars. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Fight Life round 3 of 12

The Battlefield: Sergio Aragonés Stomps Star Wars (Dark Horse Comics, January 2000)

The Promoters: Sergio Aragonés & Mark Evanier (art & story), Dave McCaig (colorist), Arador Cisneros (letterer), Dave Land (consulting editor) and Scott Allie (editor)

Long story short, Sergio gets zapped into the Star Wars movies. After a series of misadventures, Sergio comes across the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader!

At least they agree on something.

Mark Evanier, his partner in comics, can’t help him. (Both of them were at Lucas’s studios to petition to do a comic.)

Fans of Mad Magazine should get this joke.

Luckily, a little help comes from a familiar Force spirit.

At least it doesn't involve Midichloriens--and no, I'm not going to bother to learn how to spell it.

So how does the guy who created Groo the Wanderer solve a problem like Maria a Sith Lord?

The pencil truly is mightier than the lightsaber.

Don’t knock it, folks. It works, but the scene is too small to show you. Just trust me. Or better yet, go find it if you’re a Star Wars fan.
